Join in celebrating World Communion Sunday on Oct. 6 at 2 p.m. at Central Christian School. This special worship service is a partnership of several local Mennonite churches and the Akron Swahili Community Church, a Congolese Mennonite congregation. The event will include prayer, scripture, communion, and worship offerings from the Salem Mennonite dance group, Congolese Swahili choirs, and Central Christian School Choir. Translation will be provided. After the service we will enjoy fellowship, dessert, pick-up soccer, and games for children on the playground. Volunteers are needed for several tasks: greeters, ushers, parking attendants, setup crew, and cleanup crew, bakers (a dozen cookies each), and servers of cookies and drinks. Please contact your pastor if you are able to help.
