The Gifts Discernment Committee asks everyone in the conference to prayerfully discern nominations for people to serve in all the different conference positions. Then the Committee discerns together who to ask to serve and contacts them, affirms their gifts and asks them to prayerfully discern if they believe whether God is calling them to serve in that way for such a time. Gifts Discernment Committee members should embody at least one or more of the three following: (1) a prayerful discerning heart, (2) a broad awareness of many people in the conference churches and their giftings, and/or (3) a willingness to contact people, affirm their gifts and ask them to pray about serving.
