We are prayerfully preparing for our annual time of worshipful work, centered around the theme Following Jesus Together with a Common Mission based on Philippians 2:5-11. We hope you will plan to join us March 1-2, 2024, at Sharon Mennonite Church, Plain City, Ohio, for our 55th Ohio Annual Conference Assembly (ACA).
This year we will offer some exciting changes as ACA will begin on Friday morning. This schedule will give us time to hear from our featured speaker, Meghan Larissa Good from Trinity Mennonite Church in Arizona. Meghan is the author of two books and will be sharing with us specifically on her newly published book, Divine Gravity: Sparking a Movement to Recover a Better Christian Story. We are really excited to have Meghan play such a large role in the weekend. Churches will want to send as many people as possible, not just delegates, to ACA this year as Meghan’s input will be beneficial for all as she leads us in finding ways to tell the Christian story and to reignite hope in Christ, recognizing that God is breathing life among us, restoring creation, and reconciling all divided things. You are encouraged to read Meghan’s book PRIOR to ACA to be entered into a drawing at ACA. Each registration will receive a copy of the book, and participants in Winter Cluster meetings may receive their copy at the meetings. We trust you will be blessed by this special addition to our weekend.
During our time together, we will be encouraging each other through worshipful work in delegate sessions, dynamic worship times, and much fellowship. We also will be working on the Conference’s strategic plan in a group session led by our Conference consultant, Jeanne Zimmerly Jantzi.
We invite you to bless others during the Friday night’s worship where we will be collecting an offering for the general fund to keep our Conference commitments during this time of transition. We also invite you to bring donations with you to be collected for Daily Needs Assistance, an organization currently based out of Sharon Mennonite Church that is a Christ-centered non-profit serving impoverished/low-income families in the greater Plain City area with holistic resources and programming.
Remember, invite your friends! This conference is open to ALL Conference members, and alternate activities for non-delegates will be offered during delegate worshipful work sessions. We hope you can attend the entire assembly as we unite to learn, worship and work together for the furtherance of God’s kingdom here in our corner of the world.
Please register early. If you are planning to secure lodging for Friday evening, please note that in most cases the cutoff date for special pricing ends in late January.
We hope you will join us as we celebrate God’s Kingdom work, learn from Meghan, and discern together the ongoing mission and ministry of our conference.
