Churches work together at NW Ohio Comforter Bash
Volunteers from area Ohio Mennonite churches came together Jan. 10 to support Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) at the NW Ohio Comforter Bash, which was held at Central Mennonite Church in Archbold. This event was sponsored by Central Mennonite Church, Lockport Mennonite Church, PEACE Mennonite Fellowship and Zion Mennonite Church.

In a report to the participating churches, Chris Wyse, Comforter Bash chairperson, said, “The goal was 75 comforters: The results – 77 comforters completed and 5 fleece blankets knotted! Over 200 people attended. This event was great in the actual work that was accomplished, but the connections people and churches from all over the area made, was more eventful than anything! The event started out slow at 3 p.m. By 6:30 p.m., when youth groups attended, it was an amazing whirlwind of activity, smiles, warmth and friendly faces sharing a common cause.”
Another Ohio MCC Comforter Bash is planned for March 8-9 at Fairlawn Mennonite Church in Apple Creek. For more information, please see the MCC website: https://mcc.org/events/ohio-mcc-comforter-bash.
