“Spiritual Physics” of God’s Creation —  “For every Spiritual action, there is an opposite and equal Spiritual reaction.”

In quite a number of passages in the Scriptures, the above “Spiritual Law of Creation Physics” is either implied or directly stated. For example,

Matthew 7:1-2 (NLT) — “Stop judging others, and you will not be judged. For others will treat you as you treat them. Whatever measure you use in judging others, it will be used to measure how you are judged.”

or, on the positive side,

Luke 6:36-38 (NIV) — “Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

This quite familiar example is just one from a long list including similar action-reaction Spiritual effects around mercy and peace, forgiveness and non-forgiveness and others.

It seems that the Creator has instilled a law of balance in the universe. I ponder how much of our lives are actually established by how we first act. Can we “take advantage” of this Spiritual “physical” law of creation? We know that a croquet ball given a blow while held by our foot will send a ball it is touching rolling off into the rough. Can our negative actions also send our spiritual balance rolling into the brush?

Or better yet, positively, can choosing mercy bring us mercy, or choosing generosity bring us a “rebounding bounty”? Being persons of the “scientific age” we might be tempted to doubt any notion that such parallels could be drawn between the physical and spiritual realms of our world.

But is not our Creator’s magnificence vast enough to do just such a thing?

So we might do well to ask ourselves about our choices: “Just what reaction — spiritually — should I anticipate I will experience from this choice now?” If we take seriously the many admonitions around the opposite and equal action and reaction verses of the Scriptures, we might start wondering if we can bring ourselves more good than we ever thought possible!
